Small Moroccan Style Candle Lantern - Style 33145 Small Moroccan Style Candle Lantern - Style 33145

Item arrived on time and perfectly packaged. Very pretty and distinctive when being used and also has a unique decorative look when not in use.

This is very pretty, but made very thin. Be careful when using it because it is delicate and will break. Go ahead and buy it, it is very nice, just be aware that it is not made in Morocco, but China. It is beautiful but cheaply made. So it will break if you do not treat it well.

I got this as a present for someone, and it was perfect. Not to big, not to small, and so far, seems to be well made! Not a bad purchase at all!

I looked at this lamp for quite some time. I assumed that it may be something you see in a "junk" imports shop, but decided to take a chance when I recieved some gift money and order it for my Moroccan themed bedroom. I was not disappointed. The glass is beautiful, textured and has a very deep coloration. The metal seems sturdy and didn't have marks and scratches. The door to open the candle chamber lined up with the hinges and opens/closes easily with with just enough resistance to keep it closed. It is designed to be used as either a hanging candle holder (tea light) or can be used standing on a flat surface. There are loops to hang it by, but you will need to get chain separately. Another bonus was that I ordered 3 different lamps from this same company and they combined my shipping charges. I paid the same shipping for 3 that I would have for one.

This lantern is so beautiful especially when lit, a geometric pattern appears on the ceiling. We hung this lantern on a garden style hook near an archway in our living room. We've placed it in our moroccan tea lounge room. This would go great in a room or hallway. The transaction went well with the seller.

I have purchased several lanterns in this style in different sizes and styles, and this is by far the most authentic looking. It is very well made. It is perfectly proportioned (unlike others which look cheap or awkward, plastic painted "glass", cheap, bent metal, too skinny or too tall). Either candlelit or sunlit from behind, the color is so alluring. The metal is beautiful as well, overall a very quality product. I just wish it were available in other colors, this would be beautiful as a colored grouping!

The lamp is beautiful and just the right size. It deserves five stars but the cost of shipping is too high.

I ordered this product wanting more than just an ivory flamless candle; I am very happy with what I got! Not only does it look like a real candle (it is made out of real candle wax) but it smells so good too! I will be buying more of these in the future!

Candle is flameless(takes AA batteries) which makes it a safe and convenient way to have the look and feel of a real candle. I love the scent and have received many compliments from family and friends.

I purchased two of these types of candles from this manufacturer. I threw them both in the garbage. The electronics were ok, and the appearance was not bad. But the smell was horrible! These are way over-scented. Smelled up my whole place like someone dumped over a bottle of cheap perfume. I had to toss them.

I bought this candle for my daughter. She loved it so much, she went out and bought 5 more. Very nice product.

We have tried a few different LED candles but where never impressed. Most look fake, even from across the room. But the this candle is different, and, as they say, different is good! This candle looks and feels like a real candle. The fragrance is obvious right out of the package as is the texture. One reviewer mentioned the scent. Ours were strong initially, but quickly dissipated after a day or two. At no point did we find the scent to be overbearing. I can't comment on battery life, but due to the lower power consumption levels of LED lights I would expect it will be good. The low and high settings are nice, but we usually run them on the high setting. The low setting could be useful, especially if you grouped together several candles. The lighting effect is excellent, the best I have seen in a "fake" candle to date. By using multiple LED lights the effect is VERY realistic.

This candle looks nice but the smell is so horrible that I couldn't stand to keep it out. I tried to display it thinking the smell would fade but I couldn't even make it through a whole day of smelling it. I'm giving it two stars because the candle itself does look nice but if you do not like strong smells, do not waste your money.

I just received the last 5 of these that Amazon listed as having in stock. From now on, these particular ones (Brown Distressed Moroccan Spice Scented 3.2x6) will be handled through Target.com according to Amazon. That's a shame, as Target.com charges much more than Amazon to ship (Prime=FREE) and generally takes much longer also. However, if they are available at my local Target, I will buy them there but I prefer to buy everything I can from Amazon! Since they just arrived today, this review refers to how incredibly realistic they are in the first few hours. I am hoping they will continue to work well as the years go by because LEDs generally are very long lasting. They will run on 4 AA batteries per candle for up to 180 hrs. I am using re-chargeable batteries available at Amazon SANYO eneloop 4 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries The candles have '2' light levels - adjustable low and high (and of course, 'off') on the underside of the candle with a simple switch. I am planning to purchase more in a little while in another shade/fragrance through Amazon as I am that pleased. I have seen others before that looked 'fake'. These are very "real" and would easily fool most people. Now I have the ambience of candle light, with a faint scent for mood but without the hazards of fire and the hassle of smoke. Never thought I'd buy something like this but when I read they were real wax candles and another reviewer had commented on their realism I thought I'd give the product a try. I am very pleased. Per the other reviewer, mine were simply placed in a box but with a strip of 'air pocket' packing material, placed on top. There were 5 in a fairly small box so they didn't move about very much. None were broken or chipped but had there been just a couple it could have happened.

An astonishingly realistic Triple-LED flickering light component is the secret to the beautiful look of every real wax pillar candle that Enjoy Lighting makes. With both bright and dim light settings these pillars can be used in a wide variety of lighting situations giving the look of REAL candlelight without any of the hassles associated with fire...

I was so eager to get this product, but when it arrived I was pretty disappointed. While it is definitely a beautiful and well-constructed item, the colors do not really match the photo. My guess is that the image was shot in extremely bright lighting, which is pretty common, but it makes the blue seem like the dominant color, when it really is not. A very ugly dark/forest green is the main color, and it only appears to be that lovely shade of blue in the limited spots where the internal tealight shines from within it. My flameless tealight (which I recommend for safety purposes), only catches a few glass frames, so those are blue but the majority of the other frames are the ugly shade of dark green. - Which kinda' makes it look more like an oversized Christmas ornament, with the red and yellow splashes of color. Oh well, I guess if you have great lighting it might not be an issue, but I'd hoped to hang it in the frame of my hallway, so I could see it from my living room and enjoy the play of light, but even with the tealight inside it was barely illuminated. My suggestion would be to use it as a "sunchaser" and dangle it from an outdoor patio that gets a lot of sunlight.

I purchased this star lamp and recieved one of the most visually stunning decorative pieces I have ever had the fortune to come across. Of course it helps if you like the Morraccan/exotic style of decor for your home. It truly is a glowing wonder!

I got this as a gift for a good friend who had mentioned to me that she liked them when we saw this type of lanterns while out one night. Since my friend also loves candles I thought it would be an awesome gift. So far, she loves it and has mentioned how much prettier it is than any other star-shapped lanterns she has seen sold in other places.

In her wordy preface, thoughtfully presented in three European languages, the author/producer of this book sums her entire attitude: 'The notion of "Orientalism", of Islamic culture filtered through the perceptions of the West, had captivated me.' No irony, no acknowledgement of the history and politics of Morocco, and absolutely no understanding of what Orientalism truly means and signifies. The lovely houses pictured are mostly owned by dilitante Europeans, who have the money to live in renovator's delights by the beach in a country where many people can't afford proper education or health care. The artisan-crafted furniture sits next to their Louis the nth antiques, and we nod sympathetically as we read (squinting at the tiny print) that the house is so minimalist due to its being only a holiday house, where they can barely spend half the year. I was particularly interested in the statement that one swimming pool was placed on the first floor level in accordance with Islamic regulations. I am now most curious as to why a ground floor pool is un-Islamic, and will be consulting the Koran before choosing my new curtains. While showing several indigenous Moroccan architectural and design features, the book does not explain what they are or how they work. It does not explain why Paul Bowles, an otherwise undistinguished character, is cited as such a cultural authority, but I presume Norman Douglas was busy, and the locals have no idea about such things. Would really like some of those tiles and lanterns, though -

This is the book to buy if you want to experience the color an style Of Moroccan houses. If you look for ideas for your interior ,and you like warm colors ,this book is the one to choose.

This book features some very interesting residences. Many of the homes featured in this book were actually purchased and fixed up by foreigners to be used as secondary residences, although some live there primarily. There are also some very unusual residences featured in this book.

Absolutely georgeous photography and Lovatt-Smith has obviously hiked all across Morocco searching for homes. I was most impressed with the variety of homes, especially the cave homes. I'm sure there is a great deal of useful information in this book, but I gave it three stars because the print was tiny and itallicized. In places where it was superimpossed over sand, water or some other scenery, it was unreadable. Why didn't an editor catch that?

Preservation or desecration of certain architectural styles and decorative heritage goes in and out of fashion the world over. It's not only Morocco that wanted to demolish the old and over-value the new. How much of the beauty and culture of the East has been lost in the name of "progress"? The situation is not simple, however. In the latter part of the 20th century there was an urgent need throughout the Mediterranean for affordable, modern housing for quickly expanding populations and growing economies strapped for cash, skills and resources. Unfortunately aesthetics and the traditions of artisans often got trampled in the rush. Lisa Lovett-Smith's sumptuous Moroccan Interiors reminds us that embracing preservation has so much to offer the present and the future. While she focuses on the homes of the rich, ex-patriate and famous and could therefore be accused of being elitist, she also illuminates the beauty of the simplest of objects that could be found in any home, rich or poor. Lovett-Smith has divided Morocco into regions and cities and celebrated the best of each, appreciating the exquisite, ornate beauty of Islamic art and the colour schemes reflecting the dramatic terrain of the Mediterranean: desert ochre and blistering reds, turquoise, azure, sapphire, gold, saffron and cinnamon to name a few. Lovett-Smith is aware that a picture tells a thousand words and her accompanying text in several languages is brief. The photography is faultless and the lighting of the interiors unobtrusive. This is not just an ornate coffee table book. It is a valuable archive, a celebration of great style and a treasure trove of inspiration for interior architects, artists and designers.

This book explores contemporary interiors in the sun-soaked land that stretches from the Sahara to the Mediterranean: Morocco. The diversity is breathtaking: the rural pisé architecture of the south is a far cry from the Hispano-Mooresque ornamental beauty of the imperial cities...
